Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar is shining up its silver screen theaters with various updates.
Among the modifications to the 1120 South Lamar Blvd. building are improved seats and sound. The movie house also teased changes to the lobby and a potential new auditorium. Lift Assist Chair

Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar is installing luxury recliners, each with their own individual table. Until now, the theaters had long, shared tables for each row.

Select theaters are also receiving two-person sofa seats that moviegoers can purchase through a two-seat package equal to the cost of two regular tickets. Though built with two people in mind, just one person could purchase the sofa seat all for themselves if they're willing to pay the cost of two movie tickets.
The luxury recliners and sofa seats are ready for use in theaters five through nine. The rest are still under construction.

Select theaters at South Lamar will receive Dolby Atmos sound, which provides moviegoers with 3D surround sound. It's currently available in theater five and is coming soon to theater four.

South Lamar is open for business as usual, though there may not be as many showtimes due to closed theaters. Theaters one through four are the next to close for renovations, and theaters five through nine are, as aforementioned, upgraded and open.
